Who we are
Medical Destinations ("we") operates this website to help UK patients research planned treatment abroad. Medical Destinations is part of the Healthcare Destinations Group. For privacy questions or to exercise any of your rights, contact [email protected] .
What we collect, and why
- Enquiry details you submit — name, email, optional phone/WhatsApp, treatment and destination interests, timeframe, budget band and notes. We use these to route your enquiry to the clinic(s) you chose, or to reply to your insurance-help request. Legal basis: consent (the checkbox on each form), and our legitimate interest in operating the service.
- Provider profile requests — your name, job title, work email, clinic website, request type, proof of association and any corrections or evidence links you submit. We use these details to confirm association, assess the requested profile change or evidence review, and respond about verification when that is your stated request. Legal basis: consent and our legitimate interest in maintaining accurate clinic research.
- Usage events — a first-party, cookieless event log (page paths and interactions such as CTA clicks) that runs at all times. It contains no names, emails or identifiers and is used to understand which content helps people.
- Analytics cookies (optional) — Google Analytics
loads only after you choose "Allow analytics" in the consent
banner, which stores your choice under the localStorage key
md-consent. Declining never limits the site, and we run no other third-party scripts.
Who receives your information
- Clinics: when you submit a clinic enquiry, the details in that enquiry are passed to the relevant clinic(s) so they can respond. Clinics may be outside the UK — including outside the UK/EEA (for example, Turkey) — and act as independent controllers of what you share with them.
- Service providers: form routing and CRM tooling used to operate the service, bound by their own data-processing terms.
- Insurance providers: never automatically. If you click through to an insurer, you deal with them directly under their privacy policy.
Provider contact information and private supporting material are not published on clinic profiles. Public source links may be cited when they support an approved evidence row.
We do not sell personal data. Ever.
Retention
Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to manage the enquiry and evaluate lead quality, then deleted or anonymised. You can ask us to delete your enquiry data at any time.
Provider profile requests are kept for as long as needed to verify the association, review the request, maintain an audit trail of approved corrections and meet legal obligations. Private supporting material is retained only for the documented review purpose and retention period.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; object to or restrict processing; and withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk). Email us and we'll act promptly.
Cookies
- Strictly necessary storage: your cookie choice and your compare shortlist are kept in your browser's local storage. No tracking involved.
- First-party usage log: a cookieless event log of page paths and interactions runs on every visit, with no names, emails or identifiers recorded. This is not a cookie and cannot be disabled, because it carries no personal data.
- Analytics cookies: Google Analytics is set only
after you consent via the banner ("Allow analytics"). Your choice
is remembered in localStorage under the key
md-consent. You can change your mind at any time by clearing site data in your browser. We do not load any other third-party scripts.
