Trust & how we work

Medical Destinations is a research platform, not a broker. This page explains how listings are compiled, what our labels mean, and how we make money.

Who gets listed at all

Comprehensive doesn't mean indiscriminate. Before any clinic appears here, our research has to evidence five minimum gates — none of which can be bought:

  1. A verifiable registered legal entity in its country of operation
  2. Evidence of lawful, licensed healthcare operation (Ministry registration or equivalent)
  3. Published, verifiable contact routes (phone and email)
  4. No active patient-safety alerts from official bodies (FCDO, WHO, national health authorities)
  5. Demonstrated capability to treat international patients, including English-language communication

Clinics are removed immediately — whatever their tier — for active procedure-specific safety advisories, false accreditation claims, undisclosed referral-commission structures aimed at UK patients, or unresolved negligence investigations into patient deaths.

Our policy on BBL (Brazilian butt lift)

BBL has the highest mortality rate of any elective cosmetic procedure, and the UK placed a voluntary moratorium on it in 2018. We do not list any clinic as a BBL provider unless it demonstrates all three of: an ISAPS-endorsed technique (subcutaneous placement under ultrasound guidance — never intramuscular), mandatory pre-operative assessment by a qualified surgeon before travel, and a documented ICU protocol for BBL complications. No safeguards, no BBL listing — regardless of how good the rest of the clinic looks. Read the patient-side guide.

How listings work

  • Profiles are compiled from public sources — a clinic doesn't need to sign up (or pay) to be listed, and listings aren't removed on request.
  • A source-backed value is labelled by its source. A checked absence may be “Not found”; an explicit provider refusal may be “Not disclosed”. Incomplete, blocked or ambiguous legacy research remains neutrally labelled “Research status unconfirmed”.
  • Factual errors are corrected quickly: every profile shows when it was last updated, and corrections are logged on the page. To report one, use the contact route in the footer.
  • Clinics have a right of reply — claiming a profile is free and lets a clinic confirm or dispute what's shown.
  • If someone was seriously harmed at a listed clinic, we want to know. We document reports carefully and never publish unverified allegations.

What our labels mean

Publicly researched profile
Compiled from the clinic's own site and identifiable public records. Clinic-published accreditation or licence claims remain labelled as clinic-published until an applicable official register has been checked.
Profile claimed
An authorised representative has proven their association. Claiming is free and creates a reviewed route for corrections, field-specific evidence and a right of reply. It does not independently confirm clinical claims or change ordering.
Evidence reviewed — International Patient Readiness
The clinic completed a scoped assessment covering applicable registers, dated provider documents and public evidence. The public record says what was checked, how and when. A paid assessment does not guarantee a credential, change profile ordering or remove comparison links.
Provider supplied
Information supplied by an authorised clinic representative but not independently confirmed. It remains visibly distinct from clinic-website publication and register verification.
Document reviewed
Medical Destinations reviewed a dated document and reports what it contains. This does not prove everyday implementation, treatment outcomes or clinical quality.

Advertising & independence

  • We don't sell leads or calls, and we take no commission from clinics on your treatment.
  • Paid placements, if any, are clearly labelled as such and never affect research content or labels.
  • Clinics that misrepresent accreditations or facts on their profile face a ladder of consequences, ending in a public notice on the profile itself.

Full written policies are being finalised ahead of launch; this page will grow into the complete versions, including our listing eligibility criteria and enforcement policy.
